Engineering Symposium

Join us for the 2019 MTU Onsite Energy Engineering Symposium

When: Wednesday, October 16 through Friday, October 18, 2019

Where: MTU Onsite Energy factory in Mankato, MN

Who: Engineering professionals of all levels

Cost: Curtis Engine and MTU Onsite Energy will cover the cost of the trip, the transportation, hotel, and meals for the event.

Details:

This is the 11th Anniversary of this event and each year over 500 people attend from North and South America.  Last year, Curtis Engine had its largest group ever with 41 people attending.  The event is for engineers of all levels of experience and we have found that there is something for everyone who attends.  There are 15 different sessions from which you will be able to pick from including

  • Diesel and gas standby generator sets and their applications
  • Continuous gas systems and combined heat and power (CHP) applications
  • Microgrids
  • If you need them, you can earn Continuing Education Credits through Minnesota State University

In addition to meeting other engineering professionals from all over North and South America, you will be able tour the factories and meet with the people who design and build the equipment.  There are also a lot of fun events planned where you can socialize and ask questions in a relaxed setting.  The tentative agenda is as follows:

Wednesday, October 16, 2019

  • 8:30am - Southwest Flight leaves BWI for Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP)
  • 10:30am - Charter Bus takes the group to Faribault, MN for lunch and a factory tour at Trystar, a leader in the production of Generator Docking Stations and Connection Boxes.
  • 1:00pm - Bus leaves for Mankato, MN.  We will check into the Hotel and have about an hour or so before the evening program.
  • 4:00pm - Opening comments from MTU and Rolls Royce Power Systems executives and food and drinks at the MTU Onsite Energy factory for a hands-on review of the products and an opportunity to touch the equipment and talk directly to the factory engineers on the shop floor.

Thursday, October 11, 2018
