Emergency standby backup power for The Avenue (Square 54) in Washington, D.C.

Square 54 is located at 2200 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW adjacent to the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro at the "front door" to both GW's Foggy Bottom campus and the Foggy Bottom and West End neighborhoods.

The Square 54 redevelopment team was led by the developer Boston Properties. The team actively participated in the university's community based planning efforts and submitted an application for zoning approval for the redevelopment of Square 54 in May 2006. After several public hearings in 2006 and 2007, the DC Zoning Commission unanimously approved this project May 2007 and the official order was published on October 12, 2007. Construction commenced in spring 2008 and was completed in mid 2011.
