Dial back to 1963 through 1993 to the stark enclave of factories, taverns, and warehouses of Southeast Baltimore. The setting is the former Curtis Engine facility located on Holabird Avenue. Sitting on an incline on more than two acres in this gritty slice near Dundalk was the service department building. Down the hill was the main building that housed parts and people.

Baltimore, Md. — May 14, 2019 — Maryland Governor Larry Hogan was the guest of honor at the recent Curtis Engine ceremonial ribbon-cutting event that celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Mid-Atlantic regional power generation solutions provider. The event, which kicked off the company’s anniversary celebration, took place on Friday, May 10. The event was attended by employees, executive leadership and the board of directors of Curtis Engine along with members of the industry news media.

Residents in assisted living facilities in the Commonwealth of Virginia will have greater assurances of uninterrupted electrical power in the event of loss of grid electricity from natural disasters or other events thanks to a newly enacted law. Senate Bill No. 1077, signed into law on February 21, 2019, requires all assisted living facilities in Virginia to install and maintain adequately sized emergency generators or have the capability to accept mobile generators.
