To support this growing need for critical infrastructure and backup power, Curtis Power Solutions has opened two new offices to provide power generation hubs that better serve customers in these regions.

In early July 2020, Curtis Engine and Western Branch Diesel’s Power Generation division announced a merger that yields expanded resources and territory for the newly created Curtis Power Solutions, LLC.

Maryland Temporary Covid-19 Medical Structures

The Fort Washington Medical Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland, was the first hospital in the nation in May 2020 to install a modular ICU unit dedicated to the in-patient treatment of people suffering from Covid-19 infection. The STAAT Mod (Strategic, Temporary, Acuity-Adaptable Treatment Modular) units were subsequently installed at six other hospitals in Maryland, and Curtis Power Solutions was selected by the Maryland Department of General Services to provide 17 150 kW generators, automatic transfer switches and fuel tanks to these facilities, another temporary ICU at the Baltimore Convention Center, and two major coronavirus testing stations in the state. Altogether, Curtis Power Solutions currently has 24 units on rent for Covid-19 facilities.

Curtis Engine provides provides mission-critical equipment, parts, and services to a number of the sectors that are considered Essential Critical Infrastructure Industries throughout the region. Therefore, we are continuing to safely provide generators, parts, and services to our customers, working from home whenever possible, while continuing to provide pay and benefits for our employees during this unprecedented period.

To our valued customers, colleagues and partners, As you may know, the Governor of Maryland yesterday issued an Executive Order closing non-essential businesses in the State of Maryland in an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19. According to the interpretive guidance from the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel, Curtis Engine provides mission-critical equipment, parts, and services to a number of the sectors that are considered Essential Critical Infrastructure Industries including Commercial Facilities, Communications, Critical Manufacturing, Emergency Services, Energy, Financial Services, Food and Agriculture, Government Facilities, Healthcare and Public Health, Information Technology, Transportation, and Water and Wastewater Systems. Thus we are not required to close in response to this Executive Order.
